Anthony Mackie's Acting Career

Anthony Mackie was born in September in 1979 and is noted actor from a whole range of good movies. He decided to learn how to become an actor early on in life and eventually went on to graduate from the Juilliard School of the arts. He has been in many movies during his acting career and started his acting career with his film debut in the independent movie entitled Brother to Brother in 2003. Since this role his acting career has taken off and he has been seen in such movies as Notorious, 8 Mile and The Adjustment Bureau alongside Matt Damon, just to name a few good movies. Before making his decision on becoming an actor Mackie had plans to become a engineer. He went to the New Orleans Center for Creative arts before attending the North Carolina School of arts and then Juilliard where some of his classmates were the actor Tracie Thoms and also the actor Lee Pace.

Mackie has been in love with acting since his school days and in addition to the movies he has played in, he has also played in various plays including the New York City public theatre production of Shakespeare in the park. He has also starred in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and the plays Fences and Jitney from the playwright August Wilson. He also has been in several of the 24 hour plays that are put on in New York every fall. In regards to Mackie’s home life, he was born in Louisiana to his mother Martha and his father Willie Mackie. He also has a brother by the name of Calvin Mackie who is a professor at Tulane. Anthony Mackie is a noted actor for all of his hard work on and off screen and he is continuing to get different roles that expand his talent and he may have many more movies to come.
