Half Nelson Producers
The Half Nelson movie is one of the American dramas that have received very good critics after being released. It was directed by Ryan Fleck and written by Anna Boden in cooperation with Ryan Fleck. Although it was a great struggle to obtain the financing needed for the movie, the producers, Anna Boden and Jeremy Kipp Walker, managed to gather all to money they needed and released the movie Half Nelson in 2006. Jeremy Kipp Walker is a producer/director and partner at independent film production company Journeyman Pictures and he lives in New York. His most recent producing credits include Cold Souls, Sugar, The Passage, and Maria Full of Grace, Everyday People, Mississippi Blue and the Curse of the Jade Scorpion as well as Hollywood Ending. He produced the Half Nelson movie and for this he worked in close cooperation with Anna Boden.
Anna Boden is an American film director, editor, cinematographer and screenwriter, she is best known as the co-writer of Half Nelson and especially thanks to her other collaborations with Ryan Fleck. She studied film at New York University and here she had met Ryan Fleck on a set of a student film. They began dating and decided to cooperate in a short time. They made two short documentaries, Have You Seen This Man? and Young Rebels and they have co-written and co-directed the sample feature that later on became Half Nelson, Gowanus, Brooklyn. She is also known as a co-writer and co-director of the 2008 film Sugar which was awarded at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and which followed the life of a 19-year old Dominican immigrant who had come to the US to play baseball. It is said that this movie was based on real facts as Boden and Fleck has done their research on young Dominican immigrants who wanted to emigrate to the US so they could play minor league baseball.
